scout badge. Jordan Andrews, Issac
Hatch and Chris Wilcox completed
their collection merit badges. Justin
Anderson, Dillon Fayerweather,Chris
Wilcox, & Charlie Wilcox finished their
basketry merit badge. Great job, boys!
Our camp out at Payson Lakes ended
early due to illness. The boys did
accomplish working on their leather
merit badge. Much talent in these boys.
Don't forget to check out their leather pocket
knife holder. These boys did a very good
job at this. Our camp out to the fly fishing
fantasy camp was a great experience for
the boys. We survived the cold, rain, hail,
washed out roads, lightening and thunder.The
boys worked on their fly fishing merit badges.
Everyone completed 1 through 9 requirements.
Charlie caught a rainbow trout using the flying
fishing techniques he learned and released.
Great Job, Charlie! The boys loved the fly
tying sessions. They learned the difference
between the different flies they had hands on
experience and loved it. You will want to mark
your calendars for September 1st, 2007.
Channel 2 News was at the Fly fishing Rodeo
taping the boys. Troop#1012 will be on TV.
How exciting is this? I'm so proud of the
Troop and they have really learned a lot about
scouting and accomplishments. Watching these
boys grow has been a wonderful experience. I
should have become a Scoutmaster a long time
ago. Also note: Next meeting will be doing Board
of Reviews. After this the Board of Reviews will
be every other month. I want to take this time
to say, "Welcome to a new Troop member that
transfered over. His name is Tony" Welcome to
the Troop! Thanks to all of the parents and their
support. We have a great troop thanks to your help
and such wonderful boys. Again, Thank you for
everything you do! Lots of camping trips our scheduled
to finish up a great year, 2007!!! Don't forget to
check out the calendar for more upcoming events.

Welcome to a new Troop #1012 at Mountain Vista United Methodist Church. The Scouting program at Mountain Vista United Methodist Church is more than just an activity for our youth to learn about the outdoors. Scouting provides fun, fellowship, and training to our youth as well as youth in our community. It emphasizes honesty, self-reliance, and respect. Through a year-round program, if affects character, citizenship, and personal fitness. But the success of Scouting depends on our volunteers, who serve in a variety of leadership roles so that our young people may benefit from Scouting. "I think the Gospel is a very powerful, yet a very simple message. It is a message of love, respect, and responsibility. Scouting is all of that." We meet on Tuesday's @ 6:30 P.M. Ages 10 1/2 to 17. All Welcome!!! We will be using this site to keep our members up to date with all of the happenings of our troop. We hope you'll use and enjoy features such as the online calendar and photo gallery!
